For over 13 years, NOLA Families in Need has been committed to bringing comfort, hope, and joy to children and families facing real hardship across Greater New Orleans.
What began as a simple Christmas toy drive has grown into a year-round mission of compassion. Today, we partner with hospitals, social workers, and community organizations to identify kids experiencing medical challenges, financial crises, or unexpected emergencies.
We believe every child deserves to feel seen, supported, and loved — no matter what they are going through. And thanks to the generosity of our community, we’re able to deliver gifts, emotional support, and even financial assistance to families who feel they have nowhere else to turn.
Our founder’s vision continues to guide us — expanding our reach, strengthening our mission, and inspiring us to serve more families than ever before.

Christmas for the Kids — Community Workday

Christmas for the Kids is the day where everything comes together — our volunteers, sponsors, partners, and community all united with one purpose: preparing hope for the families who need it most.
This is not a public event for families.
It’s a hands-on community workday, focused entirely on sorting, selecting, and carefully packing every toy, essential gift, and special item that will later be delivered to children and families identified by social workers and hospitals.
Volunteers and sponsors work side by side, turning generosity into action — creating personalized gift bundles for families facing medical challenges, financial hardship, or unexpected crises.
And because every act of kindness matters, each volunteer is also encouraged to bring a donated toy, adding one more moment of joy for a child who truly needs it.
It’s a day filled with teamwork, purpose, and compassion.
Every box packed is a promise: You’re not alone. You are seen. You matter.
